Yogurt and Fruit Parfait

¾ Cup Plain yogurt
½ Cup Frozen fruit, unsweetened
1 Tsp Honey
Optional   Granola or cereal, nuts, seeds, cinnamon

  1. Fill a reusable container with plain yogurt. Top with frozen fruit (any kind) and drizzle 1 tsp of honey over top.
  2. Let it sit overnight so the frozen fruit defrosts, naturally sweetening the yogurt.
  3. Before eating, can sprinkle top with homemade granola or cereal for a crunchy topping.

Dietitian Tips:

§  This makes for a quick grab and go breakfast that’s a much healthier choice than going to the drive through. It’s also probably half the calories as a store bought yogurt parfait with way less added sugar too.

§  For a higher protein punch, choose plain Greek-style yogurt.

§  Make multiple parfaits once a week so you only do the work once but have a homemade breakfast or snack.

§  If you have a larger appetite, feel free to increase the portion sizes up to 2 times for breakfast.
